Reviews of Brisbane's best restaurants, cafes, takeaway and plenty of food & wine news

Try Alibi Room in New Farm. You might already know it, of course. Definitely not a new place but originality reigns. Sweet potato fries, and really good, MASSIVE pizzas. They have Taco Tuesdays as well with cheap beer promotions, if you decide to deviate from your usual wine dose. Very quirky atmosphere but not the best service. They also have a Tiki Lounge if you want to book it for functions. Refer to www.thealibiroom.com
On another note that is unrelated to the competition, there's an Italian place called Gregorio's in St Lucia's Hawken Drive, opposite Salt and Battery. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant. The two occasions that I have eaten there have made me really happy and full, cause for the really cheap price, you get a big plate of good pasta. Usual suspects of gnocchi, three different variants of pasta (penne, fett, spaghetti) and pizza. Lavazza coffee served. Not exactly interesting or original, but it's a good place to go if you're ever feeling a big hole in your pocket!
(Not a paid advertorial; I just like the place, esp since I'm a poor uni student)
