Menulog Competition

Thanks to the good people at Menulog, food bling Brisbane is able to offer its first competition...

Menulog has recently launched an online home delivery service, and has helpfully donated a voucher to food bling, Brisbane. You can find their home delivery site here. Next time you can't be bothered whipping up your regular eight course degustation dinner, you can order online from various restaurants around Brisbane and have the meal delivered to your door.

So the reader out there that sends in the most imaginative or original suggestion for a new cafe/deli/restaurant for me to visit will pick up a $30 Menulog voucher. Please get your suggestions in by Sunday 22 March 2009. Entries can be sent in by using the comments form at the foot of the page. Good luck!

How about a visit to some of the fine food courts in Queen Street, i.e. Meyer, Wintergarden + David Jones..

Shane I think you'll have to be a bit more persuasive to pick up the prize

Lol, well, I was going to say I'd have a hard time coming up with something imaginative for the blog that I go to for imaginative suggestions on new places to eat, so maybe Shane's idea isn't so bad! There are a couple of gems in the CBD cesspit, after all... we ate at Hanaichi in the Wintergarden once and it was fantastic.

I'll try and come up with something, though, that menulog voucher sounds pretty handy :)

I've been living under a rock and only today heard about Le Bon Choix at Racecourse Rd. I'm very keen to try it, but as you're coeliac perhaps a bakery isn't a good suggestion!

How about Mu'ooz, an Eritrean restaurant?

I'd recommend Stella Star in Lota. A great little Italian restaurant with a small but high quality and varied seasonal menu that changes weekly. Relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices, but food worthy of somewhere twice the price. It's built up a real following with locals and has recently started opening 6 nights a week to cope with demand. Also, it's BYO. What more could you want?

Howdy,

Short time visitor, first time commenter.

I've only just started reading your blog but I get the impression that you eat a lot of vegetarian food? (I think your partner may be vegetarian? Or am I just making that up?).

Anyway, if so, check out 'My Heart Garden' at St Lucia. It is mainly vegan faire, and if you do go, at least grab a piece of the nanamio slice.

Checking the web there are a few hit and miss reviews, but it's been decent when I've been there.

My vegan friends love My Heart Garden... and as a non-vegan, I think it's quite ok. They like the Bliss Burgers, I like the vegan chocolate cake!

The lucky winner of the Menulog Competition is Sapphira.

Thanks everyone for your entries & suggestions. It's great to find out where my readers are eating. I've now got a few more spots to visit around Brisbane.

After a big weekend of eating over the Easter break, I think I need to take a chocolate holiday over the next couple of days...
