2010 Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards - Part 3

Just to wrap up my posts about this year's Australian restaurant guide, here are the top 10 restaurants in Brisbane according to Gourmet Traveller:

1. Montrachet
2. E'cco
3. Restaurant Two
4. The Buffalo Club
5. Alchemy
6. Gianni
7. 1889 Enoteca
8. Sono Portside Wharf
9. Siggi's at the Port Office
10. Era Bistro

There are no real surprises in that list - the obvious place missing is Urbane, but that's because it is currently closed (re-opening very soon). I'm sure it will be back up at the pointy end of the list next year. It will also be interesting to see if Aria makes it into the top 10 next year.

Any thoughts from readers on the list?

it will be really interesting to see if Urbane and Aria are in the top ten- and if so, who they will replace.

Good blog Richard, I think it would be better if you had more pictures in it.

Out of the ten, I have been to the below 7 and would personally agree with the top 3 myself. The other 4 I wouldn't disagree with the quality provided but doesn't quite excite me. I havent been to Urbane yet, looking fwd to it.

I'm surprised at Restaurant II - They have never been adventourous enough, too safe for me liking. The list is very CBD centric - perhaps restaurants like 2 small rooms, or Brent's in Toowong. Highly reccommend - they beat Restaurant II anyday.

Thanks for the thoughts on the list. I suppose the main reason these places make it to the top 10 is consistency over a number of visits.

I am dead keen to go back to Two Small Rooms. I haven't eaten there for years, but have been reading great things about the current chef.

I'm surprised that Il Centro isn't on the list - although I suppose it is a bit more 'casual'.
